Rooms at One&Only Cape Town

The rooms at this hotel were a true highlight of our stay. Even in the standard room category, we were blown away by how impressive the room was. Both the bedroom and bathroom were incredibly spacious, with stunning views of both the marina and Table Mountain. Our large balcony was perfect for a glass of South African wine overlooking the marina.

The bathroom was huge, featuring a beautiful oval bath, and the interior design was thoughtfully executed. The amenities were excellent, and they had thought of everything, even adaptors.

Facilities at One&Only Cape Town (Pool, Gym & Spa)

The hotel has amazing facilities, including a gym that is among the best equipped I have ever experienced, whether you like strength training or cardio. The pool area is spacious with plenty of sunbeds (anyone who has read my hotel reviews before knows this is a big deal to me). The drinks by the pool are delicious, and the service is very attentive.

There is also a spa, but unfortunately, we did not have time to use it. They also had an on-site gallery displaying amazing African art, which was lovely to walk around.

The concierge service was outstanding, and we constantly made use of it for taxis and excursions. Being able to liaise via WhatsApp made everything incredibly easy, especially when we were out at restaurants. They were highly organised and consistently helpful, ensuring everything ran smoothly.

Restaurants at One&Only Cape Town

First up with restaurants is breakfast; we had breakfast included in our room, and we were super impressed. There was such a large selection, as well as a flatbread station and a menu to order from. The food is delicious, I had the best gammon I have ever eaten here, it was melt-in-your-mouth. They also let you take away little takeaway boxes, in case you have any early excursions or fancy a little treat later in the day.

They also have several excellent dining options on-site, making One&Only Cape Town a great choice for food lovers. We visited ROOI, the hotel's signature steak restaurant. The hotel is also home to Nobu Cape Town, one of the city's most well-known luxury dining experiences, serving upscale Japanese cuisine. For something more relaxed, Isola is the hotel's Mediterranean-style poolside restaurant, perfect for lunch.

Then you have Vista Bar, which does afternoon tea and bar drinks.

One&Only Cape Town Location (V&A Waterfront)

The location of the One&Only Cape Town is excellent, set within the V&A Waterfront (one of the best areas to stay in Cape Town). The hotel is a short walk to a fantastic selection of shops, restaurants, attractions, and some of the city's most iconic views of Table Mountain.

In my opinion, the V&A Waterfront offers the perfect base for first-time visitors thanks to its lovely atmosphere and central location. Despite being so close to the action, the hotel itself feels private and peaceful. The area also felt very safe.

Service at One&Only Cape Town

The service here is truly outstanding. All of the staff make a genuine effort to engage in conversation and help with any queries. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, the service is top-notch and some of the best I have experienced.

Is the One&Only Cape Town worth it?

In my opinion, One&Only Cape Town is absolutely worth the splurge. Overall, it is undoubtedly a luxury hotel, the exceptional service, spacious rooms, incredible facilities and V&A Waterfront location make it stand out as one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. If you're looking for a luxury city escape in Cape Town, this hotel truly delivers on every level.
